Verse of the Day - Psalms‬ ‭8‬:‭3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When I look at the sky, which you have made,

at the moon and the stars, which you set in their places—

what are human beings, that you think of them;

mere mortals, that you care for them?

Reflection

The entire psalm 8 describes the glory and greatness of God manifested in His creation.

In verses 3 and 4, the psalmist ponders over the magnificence of God's handiwork and wonders why God would even care about human beings. Humans with a sinful nature, who are reckless with what God has entrusted in our hands including our own lives. Humans who keep disappointing God and keep running away from Him and His design for our lives.

Truly, we don’t deserve the love and the mercies God shows us every day. The wickedness in our hearts alone should consume us. Yet, God still cares for us and allows us to live, giving us many chances to repent and come to Him.

When we finally decide to return to Him, He gladly welcomes us and gives us a fresh start, as if nothing even went wrong along the way in our lives.
